Some years ago while browsing the net I discovered this wonderful video. I decided to save it because my grandmother told me she attended the school that Samuel W. Houston built in the Galilee community.
I apologize for the poor quality of the video, however I had no control of it. In it Scott Johnson tells the story of Professor Samuel W. Houston's achievements in establishing the Samuel Walker Houston Industrial and Training School in1906. It was the first county's training school for African-Americans in the state of Texas. This school would later blossom into the first African-American high school in Walker County.
Although the video quality is not on par with what we have grown accustomed to in today's world of technological wonders; nevertheless Mr. Johnson's account can clearly be heard as he tells the story of how it all began. Take a look.
